Chimamanda Adichie: The danger of a single story

Chimamanda Adichie is a Nigerian novelist who fears that too often we define people and cultures by a single, misunderstood story. In this talk she discusses the negative impacts of this and urges everyone to explore and attempt to understand people in a way that is not based on a prevailing attitude.

Here's the big problem. I go back through the blarchives and I'd say more than half of the videos are not working.

On BLOL, you mean? Yeah, I noticed that too.

This is one example of why I always am a bit annoyed by the "stuff on the web is there forever" argument. Our bigger fear should be about how fast links and other web content erode over time. The web forgets more than it remembers. Anyway, that's the contrarian digital librarian in me coming out.
